Increase AOV Using Pre-Purchase Upsells


The purpose of the Pre-Purchase Upsell is to help boost your AOV by offering targeted products based on what the customer is adding to their cart. These relevant upsells on product upgrades will help you increase your average order value and also give your customer more for less.

PLACEMENT SETTINGS

Step 1: BUILD

  • Make sure the Placement Type is a Pop Up
  • Have it display on a click that adds to cart
  • Right click on the add to cart button and click inspect
  • Find the class of the Button, copy it, then paste it into the class option in Ampry

Step 2: DISPLAY

  • For the URL Match Type, choose Show On Select Pages, then click Add Url
  • Select Contains from the dropdown, and put your page or pages you want it to appear on
  • Set the Frequency to show every visit

Step 3: SET GOAL

  • Select the conversion event you’ve created for your site

TEMPLATE SETTINGS

Step 1: SELECTING THE TEMPLATE

  • Click on Add Template in the top right corner
  • Select the template you want to use, in this example we will select the 

CTA | Pre Purchase Add-On

Step 2: EDIT THE CONTENT

  • Choose what Images, Headline, Subheadline, Description, and Button Text you want
  • Add in your destination URL that will link users to where you want it to take them

Step 3: EDIT THE DESIGN

  • You can edit the General, Headline, Subheadline, Description, Button, and Countdown 
  • Make sure it matches the look and theme of the website

Step 4: TARGETING SETTINGS

  • Target it to who you want it to appear to

Step 5: SET IT LIVE

  • In the top right corner, click on Create Template
  • Make sure all levers are toggled on to green and test to make sure they are live on the site
